Paflyfish is a community to help foster a shared interest in expanding our knowledge, experience, and most importantly our enjoyment of fly fishing angling in the Pennsylvania region. Humor, ideas, debate, and opinions are encouraged.
Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully. Insults, belligerence, profanity, anger, offensive comments about race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and national origin, are not acceptable.
No political or religious posts. After some deliberation, Paflyfish decided that it is no longer in the best interest of the site to allow political and religious conversations.
Paflyfish permits the use of signature lines for personal use with statements or personal links that follow the existing site policies. Business and other organizational links are considered advertising and are not permitted. An individual with a business association can have a signature line that mentions that organizational affiliation, but may not promote it in any additional manner. No links are allowed in signature lines that connect to commercial organizations.
Commercial posts and activity are not allowed. Advertisements of any kind, for any reason, for any product or service are not permitted on the site without permission. Our user base is not a resource to be "mined" by individuals, groups, or businesses, for-profit or not-for-profit. Participants (excluding paid advertisers) may not post affiliate links or links to direct others to any pages at their own commercial website or website in which they have a commercial interest. Exceptions to this may be found in the Classifieds/Swap Forums or other explicitly designated commercial areas. We do offer advertising options on the site - please contact us at dkile@paflyfish.com for more details. It is a great way to reach thousands of anglers in the region.
Stay on topic by keeping discussions relevant and on track. Do not post the same discussion more than once or in more than one forum.
Nudity, lewd, or offensive posts are not allowed.
Double or secondary accounts are not allowed. Only one account is permitted per member.
Do not use posts to promote your fundraising efforts like GoFundMe or selling your kids cookies.
Public discussion about moderation or moderator decisions is not allowed. If a moderator deletes or edits one of your posts and you disagree with the action, contact the moderator concerned. Do not repost deleted material.
Be mindful of yourself and others. This community is not a democracy; it is privately owned and we determine the rules. If rules are violated we retain the right at our discretion to remove, edit or delete posts and if necessary ban or remove members. Any abuse toward our team may result in immediate suspension of your account. Our rules extend to all sections of the website including private messaging and conversations.
Some forums have additional guidelines and policies that are unique to that topic. Please review those guidelines before posting.
