embed a youtube video in post

I've tried several different ways of getting a video to be seen on a post....and not just post the video link.

So....I know it's something simple I've missed. Can anyone share the double-secret-probation method of doing this?

Go to YouTube > click on "Share" > Click on the "Embed" button > Copy the embed code > paste it into the site.
