This weekend I took our family of five to Susquehanna Co. to visit my best friend and see some old places and familiar faces.
I did not bring my rod with me, it wouldn't be fair with the kids along. But we did scope out some property and houses. I took some pis of some of my favorite old fishing spots. But only the ones near or visible from the road. This area is a completely uncommercialized and mostly unnexplored and overlooked area of the state that is void of attractions and state parks. It does however abound with hundreds of decent sized marshy bogs and natural lakes that are spring fed, cold and no one to fish for the pickerel and brookies that swim in them. Yes I said brookies and lake in the same sentence, but forgot to include Pennsylvania. I hope you DON'T believe that. Here are some pics from this Sunday. I want to move back now after visiting. I saw a few pickerel in the shallows of the first lake pictured. There are dozens and dozens of lakes like this in the county. They mostly go completely unfished. Oh, and I almost got my truck stuck several miles back in the gamelands rd. trying to drive off road around part of a 70-80 ft. tree that had fallen across the road. It could not be moved and us guys had to push while wifey floored it leaving me caked woth mud. She did it on purpose.
