This weekend I took our family of five to Susquehanna Co. to visit my best friend and see some old places and familiar faces.
I did not bring my rod with me, it wouldn't be fair with the kids along. But we did scope out some property and houses. I took some pis of some of my favorite old fishing spots. But only the ones near or visible from the road. This area is a completely uncommercialized and mostly unnexplored and overlooked area of the state that is void of attractions and state parks. It does however abound with hundreds of decent sized marshy bogs and natural lakes that are spring fed, cold and no one to fish for the pickerel and brookies that swim in them. Yes I said brookies and lake in the same sentence, but forgot to include Pennsylvania. I hope you DON'T believe that. Here are some pics from this Sunday. I want to move back now after visiting. I saw a few pickerel in the shallows of the first lake pictured. There are dozens and dozens of lakes like this in the county. They mostly go completely unfished. Oh, and I almost got my truck stuck several miles back in the gamelands rd. trying to drive off road around part of a 70-80 ft. tree that had fallen across the road. It could not be moved and us guys had to push while wifey floored it leaving me caked woth mud. She did it on purpose.

Wetnet,

now that I drove all the way up there and took a pic of the place that I was telling you about do any of these pictures ring a bell, (wink wink, the last one)?

It's not the best spot on the stream, but with the kids it was the most accessable. The whole time I was there my buddy kept tellin' me about this horrible flood that tore up streambeds and washed away mobile homes the other year. I hope it hasn't devastated the area as a fishery. I'll continue to post the locations annonymously for this website. For the sake of the trout.

Sorry it doesn't yet but it will. My son and my Mothers Day fishing Trip got delayed. He had an obligation to go to State College this past weekend. He knows our Mom's day is tradition so he asked tonight when we're going. He's all big but I'm glad he still lets his Mom bother him. I'll forward pictures. Rain or shine!!
