blood knot vs. double surgeons knot

Tom,

I remember them calling it a forcep surgeon knot or somrthing similar. It was about simple knots to tie with forceps, especially for cold weather.

bj,
We all seem to have different but the same experiences on some things and what I've noticed about blood knots is when I go less than 4 wraps my knot wont hold, however when I go more than 4 wraps my knots seem to lose lb test strength even when moistened. Perhaps too much friction coming together?

I use a bloodknot for the heavier sections when building a leader. I use a triple surgeons for tippet knots. The surgeon seems to hold better for thin diameter line, it's easier to tie than a blood knot and it's easier to get a consistent knot for me. I tied many and tested them side by side.
