I really like pink in some of my flies. Pink hares ear, pink caddilac, pink squirmy, and flies with pink beads and hot spots. They are especially successful on stocked rainbows and wild brookies.

HERES ONE i never thought of.

Iinteresting article.. I've never seen a pink grasshopper.
I was a skeptic of pink and/or purple flies up until a few years ago. And then I tried fishing them. I am now a believer. My biggest trout of 2022 was caught on a pink blowtorch/ killer bug hybrid fly I tied up. In 2021 my biggest was on a pink eggstacy. Pink catches wild browns too. I've caught trout on light pink perdigons, walts, and killer bugs during tough conditions.
Have you ever tried tying the pink cadillac in purple?

No. Not much of a purple fan. Perhaps i'll give one or two of them a whirl. I tie a perdigon with purple (similar to Rainbow Warrior) mylar over purple thread with purple collar and a silver bead. It is so so. When they are gone, i doubt I'll tie more

Purple and snipe wetfly is a decent early season fly.

@nfrechet. Only you LOL. its a dead ringer.

Hear i thought a pink grasshopper was a ladies drink.

Yeah, this came to my mind immediately when I saw the pic of the real pink grasshopper. This pattern is great for immitating smaller hoppers and can be tied in any number of colors.

I like purple flies, lie Purple Haze out west. Although my favorite is a modified PA fly, the Purple Patriot. Patriot with dun wings, tail and hackle, purple thread with purple flash. In small sizes works well in olive hatches.

When my kids were little our "secret lure" was a 1/64 oz jig with pink head and sparce pink marabou tail. When was working at hatchery it looked just like the albino fry which are pinkish. Not many albinos survive since they are easy to spot by predators. I then thought pink flies may look like albinos.

One of my favorite dry flies is a EHC tied with a wraped purple foam body.

The purple perdigon is a great fly, I always have a good number of those in my box. I like tossing them on overcast days.
