I'm curious about checking these out. Are there any shops in the Philadelphia area where I can try it out prior to taking the $$$ plunge?

Photography is a great passion for many anglers. Everything from fish porn to some really exceptional stream photos show up on Paflyfish. I spend a third of my time fly fishing with a DSLR hanging around my neck..

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s (PFBC) once again is holding their annual photo contest. There are three judged categories with prizes to boot. The category “Anglers and Boaters” invites photographers to participate with submissions showing themselves and family members on the water. “Waterway Scenics” invites inspiring environmental images of your favorite Pennsylvania stream or lake. The category “Reptiles and Amphibians” encourages photographers to capture a moment when they might see a frog, toad, snake, turtle, or salamander in their native habitat.

The PFBC annual photography contest has recently extended its deadline for entries to December 31. Past winners have seen their works featured in Commission publications such as Pennsylvania Angler & Boater magazine and enlarged as visuals for PFBC sportshow exhibits.

LOL - where's the 200+ option? I probably have a problem, since I have dozens of reels and dozens of lines that are still in separate boxes. But it's still cheaper than therapy!

I'm on the low end with 6.

But 2 of them have a spare spool and 1 has 3 cassettes.

I've only got 6, 4 of which are in working order, and 3 of which actually get used.

Cabelas RLS something or other - my reel for my 7 wt, steelhead/bass rod.

Risenfly reel - large arbor, has become my main reel for most trouting. Travels between whatever rod I feel like using, but they're all 5 wts, so it's all good.

Orvis BBS - used to be my main reel but it's showing it's age. Still my main brookie reel, because it's lighter, and balances my short rod better. Have 2 spools for this one, one with 5 wt and one with 7 wt line on it. And I use the heavier line to "overline" the rod in the thickest of places, and the lighter one in more open environs. Usually I carry both spools in case I want to switch streamside.

Orvis Battenkill - was on my wife's rod which I got rid of. Now it's just a backup reel that rarely gets used. Occasionally if I'm outfitting someone else to go fishing with. Or on "big" trips with multiple types of fishing, I'll set up all three 5 wt reels with different leader set ups. One with a dry fly leader on the boo, the BBS with a brookie leader on the brookie rod, and this one with a nymphing leader on my 9 ft 5 wt Loomis. Then each set up is ready to rock and roll.
