I usually take a lot of photo's, I only took a few though,

and yes the fisheye lens makes people near the edge of the photo look bigger. It' just the nature of ultra-wides.

Check out this brookie I caught on the way home. He was far up in the headwaters where the stream got smaller as well as the fish. I remember a post not too long ago about brookie size and their heads. This seems to be an old fish but malnurished. He was right around 8" but beyond skinny. Anyone ever catch a wild brookie that looks like this?

Ry,
Neat pics. Those are some mighty nice brookies - large fish with great coloration. As for the funky one, not sure how to explain that. You'll see this from time to time with trout (I never seem to see bass like this). I think it may stem from a spine curvature or some deformity from egg sac stage. Or maybe some problem with spawning or air bladder(?). Whatever the case, I agree it's a old fish due to his large length (appears to be about 9").

DKile,

Great shot. You should post your camera settings for that. I like how you used the tight focal aperture to blur the background.

I have more, but it may take me a while to sort them out. Here's one that sums up the fishing for me and another that shows how big of a "circus" the Green Drakes can be: the parking lot at Poe Paddy State Park at 4:30 in the afternoon on Monday in the middle of the Green Drake blizzards (that's Tony, Bill and Greg getting ready for a streamside dinner.

I actually had pretty crappy success numbers wise (until I hit spring creek, anyway). I was just fortunate albie was there when I did luck into one. Albie and I were on our own that day, so he had no good looking subjects to photograph.
Nice pics albie and jack.

main reason most people's pics don't work is because they're too big. make sure your pics fit the size restrictions of the site.

Hi Pad,

The out of focus look in the background is accomplished mostly by the lens in what is called setting the depth of field (DOF) controlled by the f-stop of the lens. Many lens can do this with DSLR camera's. You set the lens to capture a very narrow focus area. Everything in front and everything behind the subject is out of focus. Really makes the subject pop.

This is why I really like DSLR cameras as most point and shoot cameras just really can't accomplish this kind of look.

Posted another example below. In this picture you can see both the front area and back area are both out of focus. The DOF is very narrow.

Sorry about the over geekness of a picture.
