I've heard a lot of discussion regarding the origins of Spring Creek Rainbows in all the different stretches from Milesburg to Benner and beyond. I'm sure the majority are hatchery escapees, along with some fish that run up from Bald Eagle, and possibly some reproduction. Regardless, they are beautiful and hard fighting fish. This 18 incher was taken on a partridge and peacock soft hackle, and put on a brief arrial display, then ran me under a tree, and finally dogged me in heavy water for a couple minutes.

Beauty! I can't make a call on that fish, but in general I feel the rainbow reproduction in lower Spring Creek is probably underestimated.
