What do you think? Hook trauma?

Re: Brook trout with lip damage
Absolutely beautiful fish. Don't know about the jaw - I'd guess hook damage as a probably cause. Sometimes fish are just born with a defect or get banged up when they're little and they wind up with a deformed body part. If this fish was in a stream with very heavy fishing pressure, like Spring Creek or Little Lehigh, I'd be more inclined to guess chronic hook damage. However, wild brookies from remote areas (which I assume this is) probably don't get hooked too often.

It was caught on a "wild brook trout enhancement" stream that has been discussed on the forum before regarding pressure issues. It is remote though...

I'm pretty sure it's hook damage. I've hooked a few fish in my life where the lower lip becomes disconnected from the rest of the mouth. Since I'm not a surgeon, they go back as-is and I imagine they end up looking like your fish later in life.
