Response to Brownie's "Potter County Brookie" below. Caught in October, 2012 in Lebanon County on a small BH Bugger. Appears to be a prespawn female.

Great looking fish. Thats one of the biggest wild brookies ive seen, its a lot longer that mine! Im jealous!

Brownie - I doubt it was appreciably longer than yours. I think it's just a combination of the way I'm holding the fish and the fact that I don't have very big hands. I didn't measure it accurately, but I would have estimated my fish at 9-10." Definitely a nice wild Brookie, but reasonably common in PA waters still. I probably catch a half dozen or so per year in that range.

I'm from Chester County so I don't fish for brookies a ton. Mainly i catch all my brook trout on my annual trip to Potter County.

That is really a great fish. You can usually hold ten of the brookies I catch in a sardine can, heads on!

Yes, I believe it to be. From the deepest hole on a tiny, unstocked stream that flows into another unstocked stream.
