Thanks guys. The fly is a parachute style fly I tie with an olive dubbed body and white post/grizzled hackle, basically just a buggy looking attractor that works well on small streams.

I sometimes see paintings of brookies and think to myself that the artist overdid the red on the belly. But then I see a picture like this and I'm reminded that once during the year, they DO have that amount of red on the belly, at least in some habitats. Love the blue halos!

Salmo, #14. I've thought about the color change brookies go through in the fall and its interesting how their colors become very similar to the leaves that begin to fall in the stream around the same time of year.
