Had some time to get out this afternoon but didnt want to mess with the trout for a few weeks with the conditions we are having so I hit a small pond nearby in a public park. I landed this one (and a few others not quite as big) on a damsel fly pattern. By far the biggest largemouth I have ever caught!! Caught on the 5wt, lots of fun!

Awesome fish! What size was it? What damsel pattern were you using?

Thanks! Not 100% sure on the size it was pretty fat though. Maybe 4lbs give or take??? The damsel fly was a #10 Gibson's Dragon Fly. Love to say I tied it but I bought it from Orvis last year as an experiment for a finicky trout (http://www.orvis.com/store/product.aspx?pf_id=80GC). I tried poppers at first with no luck until I realized it was these that they were launching out of the water at.
