That is fantastic coloration on that fish. Nice catch! Where did you get him?

Wow! Now that's a brookie. Not only is it large but the red colors are extremely intense, esp the fins.

I think those are the most intense reds I've ever seen on a native. What a beautiful fish. Congrats.

 Re: Spring Brookie
Thanks for the comments guys. I cannot reveal where this came from as I was an invited guest to a friends semi-secret paradise. It is a public stream and in PA. If you check out the others I posted on page 26 or close to the beginning of November last year, you'll see this stream produces some real beauties. By far the most colorful fish I've ever caught.

Dave,
Feel free to paint it!

I was more curious if it was a PA fish rather than one you caught out west. I can see why it is a "secret stream". Beautiful fish!

Got ya. Yep, go get em while you can in PA. By the sounds of it, we might not have them too much longer if the Marcellius Gas drilling operations continue to pollute and dewater their habitat.

 Re: Spring Brookie
FF,
Yeah, that is indeed a tempting fish to paint. :)
Another characteristic of note: The fish has virtually no black on the belly. Brooks with that striking orange usually have some black across the belly. Also, the dorsal fin is neat - green along the front half and orange in the upper, back half.
Just striking.

 Re: Spring Brookie
Dave,
I have a photo of the belly and there is no black on it. I looked at another one from a year or two ago that is brilliantly colored like this one and has no black on the belly either. Must be this streams fish's characteristics.
