This is a really cool "double" photo. Most of the brooks I get are closer in size to the little guy. Note the big one has red spots on his dorsal.

thanks guys, the red spots on the dorsal don't really "suggest" anything. I've seen them on both male and female brookies ;but they seem to be more common on males.

I agree, the red dorsal spots don't indicate anything. You'll see them on small, wild brown trout too. They're not that common on either brooks or browns but I think I see them more on browns.
