Fished a couple different spots in the Williams Grove area from 8:30am till around 1:30 or a little bit later. Landed four on phasant tail nymphs in the morning and then once it warmed some around 11:oo am caught 5 on elk wing Caddis,s on the surface...I felt good about how the fishing wnet but turned out to be a pretty expensive day.

I got back to my explorer and i took my rod apart and laid it on the roof till I was done taking my waders off. Wouldn't you know I drove off with the rod on the roof. Went back to look for it but was not lucky enough to find it. It was an Orvis Rocky Mountain 9' rod with a battenkill III reel on it. Maybe I will get lucky and be able to get it back if someone found it.

Sorry about the rod. I think most of us have done this at one point or another. Give the YB Outfitters a call in a couple days, maybe someone will turn it in there.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune and just so you know your not alone. While fishing today I lost my net. Don't know how it happened but apparently it just feel off my vest while I was standing in the water fishing and I never saw it float away. I know I'll never get it back so al I can do is hope whoever finds it enjoys it. The scary part is my Brodin net will be here any day and I would have been poised if it was that one.

Yeah, it happens. I'm famous for leaving my sunglasses on the roof of the truck or on the tonneau cover and driving off...did that to more than one pair...none of which survived. One of them cost as much as some of my rods...have gone cheaper on all subsequent pairs.

Drove home once this Winter with the tailgate down too...luckily my hip waders were still in there when I got home...dummy.

Sorry to hear about this. I too did this years ago. Now, if I don't stow my rod first, I almost always put my rod handle under my wipers, and stick the rod straight up over the windshield until I can get it back in the tube. I know I won't drive off without stowing it that way. I've known folks who did get their rods back when lost this way, though. Do check with local shops.
