128 cfs, temp around 67.5 at 5 am. Water was clear and the normal low release from the dam. Met 2 guys from the forum to fish. Trico and a few caddis. We fished from 5:15 - 10 am. Trico hatch was weaker than normal but I'll guess that was due to the hot temps. Everyone took fish on spinners or smaller nymphs. We did see one nice brown that had to be in the 23-25" class. Might be the biggest trout I've ever seen in that stream. Lots of rain today (Sunday) and hopefully some cooler temps this week will help improve fishing. The Tully is considered to fish best between 100-150 cfs. I actually think it fishes better at 300-400 cfs.

You were studying or working or don't want to fish that sewer, or so I thought. That brown we saw was a serious tank. We hammered him w/ everything but he showed no interest. Tried to sneak up and take an under water pic but he would have none of it. When I got too close, he shot out of there like an 8" fish would have. If we would have hooked him, it would have been short lived. He had some serious wheels. His tail had to be 6-7" from top to bottom!
flyflingers good eyes spotted him. I would have guessed it was a carp but then again, I'm blind.

Your hang over was better than the fishing! LOL. It was very slow.

I fished the Tully this morning just downstream from the road to nowhere. I agree very little Trico's in comparison to two weeks ago when I was there. I did catch a few trout from 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM. All nice browns.

I could not sleep so I fished it from about 12:30 AM to 3:00 AM 07/24/2010, a couple hours before you got there. This night fishing activity is inspired by the shear number and size of crayfish I am seeing in this stream. Simply amazing.
I am tossing Clawdads and clouser craws into areas that I know hold fish during the day, though that is likely a screwy approach as browns move out in the open and not necessarily in their normal holding areas. That night I only managed two fish, both browns of course but disappointingly small, both under 14".

That fish almost made me go back again yesterday. Kinda glad I didn't because I fished some new water on the LL that I'm looking forward to fishing after some rain.
It was nice to meet you Sight. Look forward to fishing with you again.

Were you guys night fishing in the Delayed Harvest section? I may be wrong, but I think night fishing isn't permitted in DHALO trout streams (or maybe it is during the summer?).
Obviously, if you were outside the reg water it's fine - just wasn't sure. Edit: I added Berks Co to the Subject line.

If sunrise is at 5, we can hit it at 4. Near dark conditions is about the only way that big one is going to be caught right now. I can't say if jdaddy was night fishing in the open regs water or what. I wasn't there. That was the biggest trout I've seen in that river and I've fished it since 89-90. To lurkers: He's sitting behind a fallen log, right in the ????????? section. Good luck finding him.
ff, Nice meeting you too. Saturday was a little slower than usual. When we get some cooler temps and a little more release of water, we'll do it again.
