only other two pictures i took. one is the top of the park, the rail road trestle run from the other side. the one in the previous post was from the bank in the picture looking down stream.

the other is a run immediately above a log jam after the riparian buffer is back in place.

for some reason, i neglected to take a photo of instream deflectors, or whatever you call the things where you use two logs to form an open V. None of the heavy shrub planting in the clear cut section, or anywhere that they laid sod and burlap over the rocks, y'know, the important bits.

Because I just don't think that way.

comma, comma, period.

nice report. I also agree that it looks a lot like spring creek. I fished there about a month ago and there are still some beautiful browns there.

I stopped by once during the trico fall a while back and saw lot's ofbrowns and tricos. But I didn't caremuch for the jack dams on a relatively flat limestone stream. The waters clean, it five minutes from home, and I've never fished it, ironic, isn't it? Far as I know it holds no natives, brookies. So why would I fish it.

Trout run became one of my favorite streams when I lived in Bethlehem. Really tough fish usually. Uber-spooky. I did the best from above the big street overpass bridge and the hole below the bridge to the paving place up through the park (the recovered section below the spring ponds was usually good to me) up through to across from Mack to where the big spring pours out through the 4 inch pipe coming out from the left bank. I caught some NICE fish on midges in this upper area back when I first fished it. After a while, it declined and i had trouble finding nice fish in the ensuing years. I went there on the 1st day of Trout and landed 2 awesome, high-jumping 14 inch browns on a CDC-nosed Al's Rat that I call the Rat Fink. Due to its urban run-off, it is really low in good bugs. Midges are about it. Never saw enough sulfurs to pull me off Saucon, Bushkill or Cedar Creek. A few BWOs in spring but rarely saw fish feed. I think I tried fishing ants in the summer but don't remember doing that much: must have not been successful. Probably too spooky. If it wasn't polluted, it would be about the best trout stream in the valley. It has the gradient that other streams, especially LilLehigh & Cedar lack.
