Sorry, no thermometer, but the creek was cold and the flows perfect. Onto the report:

I drove up to state college on Friday to do some fishing. I parked in the paradise lot, got on my waders, and walked a mile or two upstream. I did some nymph fishing for about 20 minutes - no success - and then I saw a caddis on the water. The fish responded to them immediately and I switched to a size 16 tan elk hair caddis.

I fished with that from about 11am - 5pm and brought 20+ fish to hand (and missed/lost probably 10-15 more), all on top. Nothing of size to note - the biggest was probably only 12-13in, but it was a great day to be on the water - really one of the best I have had at Spring in a long time. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come this spring - it'll be my last year hear (moving to CO for a job in July/August), so I hope to have some days like this on all my favorite waters.

Sorry for no pics, haven't uploaded them yet.

Nice!

I fished the paradise Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I got there bit before 3 PM and only stayed for 1.5 hours. Good amount of fish on #18 BWO. Few, and I mean few people there....not even people looking at the eagle.

Sunday got there around 11:30. Again #18 BWO dry. caught many. Probably caught just shy of 20 on one fly before hackle unwound. There were #16 tan caddis, light colored midges, and some #18 BWOs. The water wasn't bubbling like somedays, but the fish were all looking up. In the 3.5 hours of fishing, easily landed 25....biggest being 13 in range.

It was a fun weekend.

Nice to hear it. I do love a day on spring creek. I want to get back up there in a week or two and explore some more. There is so much new water above the Paradise that I neglected for too long!
