I fished the FFO section today from 3:30pm until 5:30pm. A nice light steady warm rain all day until about 5pm. The water was clear and the rain didn't effect it at all.
I caught two rainbows and two browns. With this cold winter water, I didn't take a temp, I had to downsize a bit. The trout wouldn't hit a bugger, but they smacked a micro-bugger pretty good. All four were caught on a size 14 tungsten bead black micro-bugger.
I started at the bottom end and walked past mid section, past the big rock. I saw boot prints from the 14th stocking, but nobody else was fishing today.(I hope that this isn't spot burning?)
The bottom quarter is still pretty shallow with the gravel fill, but halfway and upstream the flood didn't fill it too bad.
A wonderful start for me with trout this year. The warmwater discharge was horrible this year, but with this fresh stocking in a C&R open all year stream...... things are looking up.
To start I walked a quarter-mile upstream and first cast!.... I caught a nice 10" bow. When I went to take a pic, another trout jumped for a rain bubble and I was so shocked the fish got off without a pic!! That was the first trout I caught in a few months.
Nice job, Maurice! Why did you keep it so quiet? I could have helped with the stocking this year!

Long rods forever,
1 wt

I had nothing to do with it. I was working....Thanks the two Freds and the Lancaster crew.

Those last three look like the same wild brown.

Haven't been down there to MC yet in 2012. 1wt, you should fish that faster section above the rock more often, hell I dont even bother fishing much below there. In fact that usually where I enter the stream. I'll agree on the warmwaters, they haven't been producing for the last few seasons and people know it. Used to be several dozen people there any given day, now maybe 3 or 4 cars at the most and nobody catcing anything. I live within sight of the plant. The river aint what it was a decade ago.

Leaky,
Yeah, the top end is much better, but sometimes I like to park at the bottom and walk past the big rock and fish downstream all the way to my car. With streamers, across and downstream is the lazy man's way to fish....... and I'm a lazy guy!!
