Fished Manada for about 2 hours this morning. Beautiful day to be out. Air temp was around 40 when I got out, a little chilly. Don't have anything to get a stream temp, but water was cold, clear, and low as usual. Fished the upper section around FIG. Got a few stockies, which is always fun. I've been trying to get into some of the little wild 'bows and browns, but no luck. Didn't see too much bug activity. Mostly midges, and a few little olives. Nothing really rising. Maybe this afternoon when it warms up, there will be more activity. Anyone pulling out any wilds from Manada this year? I love to fish there as its only 10 mins away. But I dont see as many as I used to. I was using a size 16 generic olive parachute, with a HE soft hackle tied off the bend. Got 4 on the soft hackle, and another on a PT with an orange hot spot.

Those stream bred bows an the wild browns are there. A little few an far between, but if you keep at it on that steam you will hook into a few. Haven't fished that stream much so far this year. The first time I fished this year, think it was in jan or feb. I caught a healthy 8" wild brownie on my first cast.

I fished it mid week and caught one nice wild brown on a Irresistable Adams. Also caught about a dozen stockers. If you put in your time you will catch a few wild ones. They just make you work for them most of the time.

There is a picture of it on my blog if you want to check it out.

I hooked into a streambred rainbow late last year, but haven't had any luck this year.

I fished the bridge pool that same day (my birthday in fact!), and the stockies were out in force. I was teaching a friend of mine how to fly fish and he was lucky enough to bring in a bow and a brownie (one with my rod!). I hooked up with one or two, but none to hand.

I tried some of the ATW sections that morning that had worked earlier this week and it looks like they have been cleared out. No rises, no activity, and lots of cars parked right by.
