Fished from 0630-0930 from the beginning of the old heritage section upstream to the fly shop. Water is low and clear, but cold. Starting around 8am the bugs started coming out in good numbers. Lots of midges and crane flys, but not much fishing rising. Also saw some sporadic caddis, but it seems they show up later in the morning. Fished caught on grey scuds and zebra midges.
On a side note, yesterday I was out during my lunch break and the caddis were very active and the fish were on them. Fish slashing at caddis in the riffles. Cdc and Elk was very effective. I also spent some time flipping rocks. There are a surprising amount of sulphur nymphs present. I guessing the hatch is going to be outstanding this year. Also saw some baetis nymphs and scuds, a few of which had orange egg sacks in them.
