Thanks, I'll remember that. Just want a few specific nymphs when the fish get picky.

not trying to derail the thread just posting a question that was mentioned in an earlier post . outsider what brand 7x tippet do you use ? nylon or fluoro ? I don't nymph with 7x but don't claim to know what i am doing either . Am always willing to learn though from guys like you !

The strongest I can find, as long as it is supple. I don't like stiff tippet material that can impede the drift. I don't know if nylon or fluoro makes a difference from the fishes point of view. But I use 7x tippet for smaller flies, especially where there are selective fish. Typically size 18 and smaller. If I can get away with heavier tippet, I will.

I also don't like to handle fish. The slime on them is there for a reason.

Try this stuff. It's the best I've used w/great knot strength. Tippett is too expensve unless you have sacks of money buried in the back yard. # per # vs others I've used, it's stronger and a lower diameter plus you can save some on $/spool.

Pline Fluorclear - 2# (7x equivalent). I've landed 23-24" trout with it so it's proven. Plus it doesn't kink and curl after tying a couple of knots and landing fish.

I started using it for steelhead and it hasn't disapointed. The only negative is the light stuff is hard to find. Get it online and save $.

Good luck.

Fished LLH today 8:30 12:30, Hooked 16 landed 8, 1 fat bow brook off when i tried to get him close enough to release. He took my last fly that I was catching them on.

Hooked 16 that's pretty good.

Someone tell me, when I was there, it seemed like there was not too many fish in the creek anyone else notice that?

I thought the opposite in Dec and Jan fishing there. Was actually quite suprised a fish in every hole despite the flooding of 2011.

Love the gravel-ly stream bottom everywhere too!

Point being,

There are plenty of fish. Sometimes they like what we're tossing, other times they could care less
