Fished today from about 9am to 12:30pm. Water was crystal clear.Caught 5 ,all browns ,lost 3 ,had5 hits. Hooked 1 and it wrapped leader around an underwater snag and I broke leader trying to free it.

Hi, thanks for the report. Can you give some details on the technique please? Did you see any hatches?

Hi, thanks for the report. Can you give some details on the technique please? Did you see any hatches? No spoon feeding! Fished LL on Sun, was 1 4 2, saw some BWO around. Getting close boys, suckers are very active and ducks are in pre-loving stage!

Thank you. I did a search on the "anchor fly", there are many variations, but I guess the key word is "anchor" (ie. fished on the bottom). It's good you were able to get close to the fish in such clear water conditions.

Sorry, I think you did mean the fly on the bottom, not a particular pattern (in the meantime I read a little bit on the European style).

Vdragan-
let me know what your schedule is like via e-mail, I have been doing pretty well with this style of nymphing on our "home" water. Maybe we can get out sometime and I can show you what i have been doing. Erik

oh great, now there will be a "fishing-style burn" thread hitting 21 pages ;)
but yeah, czech and euro techniques do work very well in the Lehigh Valley if you pick the right patterns.

Do you guys pick the patterns you'll use for the day before or after you get there.

I fished the L.L. on the 14th and managed 8 to include 1-17" brown, not sure if it was stocked. It did fight good. 2-on dries, 1-tight line nymphing, and the rest floating the curly with 7x. All the nymphs has tungsten beads and P.T. caught a few, lightning bug caught another. Water was insane low and clear.

Not if you know what you are doing, particularily this time of year. Of course I don't handle, pick up fish. Just a quick twist of the wrist with a hemostat and they are on their way. How about you?

7x floro, only reason I used it was because I ran out of 6x. I know te fish there can be picky. Took a little while to get in but he was fine. The sage ESN 4wt is out of this world. Normally fish like that drop off. Floating the curly worked good there. Other key thing I did was got him on the reel quickly. Learned that a few years ago.
