Spring fishing on the river has been pretty solid this year. The relatively dry spring and the warmer than average temps have the fish happier than normal for this time of year, and, fortunately, we've been able to get out to take advantage of it.
Over the past few weeks we've been on pretty much all of the trout water, and the fishing has been good throughout. Typical spring offerings with large profiles and a little flash have been good under the bobbers, and last weekend we even managed to stick a few on dries when we found fish up eating caddis on some of the river's flats. Throwing big stuff has been productive as well: spent a morning swinging flies with the two-hander and had lots of rainbow grabs, and sinking lines with stripped flies are getting it done from the boats.
