Water flow at Pineville is just over 1600cfs and if we get no significant rain it should continue to drop. With out rain, the water release from the res will go down for sure.

The river is in great condition for fishing although for the fly rodder your options are limited. If you can get into the diversions off the Wires or Trout Brook area of the river you'll still find steelhead in these areas. Also, any soft water areas will be fly fishable, just have do do some leg work. The tribs off Lake O are always an option too.

Heavily weighted flies like the girdle bug, yuk bug, montana stone and a heavily weighted stone fly, black or golden, will work. Fish these in a size 6-10, nothing smaller.

Fishing is primarily for drop backs at this point and we should have good fishing for the next two, maybe three weeks, depends on what happens to our water and how fast it warms up.

Tight lines.
