Lake Erie and tribs steelhead report 10-20-06

Well folks guess what? It is raining again. Most if not all of the tribs are high and muddy. But the good thing is, although it makes for tough fishing conditions it also moves more of the steelies into the creeks. All the creeks are reportedly loaded with fish. If you are driving up to NW PA from a ways away don't get discouraged if the creeks are high. Things change around here pretty fast so please check all the tribs before heading home. Since the creeks are high and muddy the larger, bright colored baits seems to be working the best. Very few boats have been out on the lake but the ones that have been seem to be trolling for steelhead along the mouths of the creeks and they are having success. Some perch are being caught in the bay area. The guides are predicting a good November run of fish so keep the bait flying and the steelhead jumping.
