I have done a little research on this stream and from what I can gather, it contains Brook trout. I have not been able to get access to it but would love to fish it some day. I have not come across anyone who has fished it. If you ever get access and need a partner to help fish it, just let me know.

I think that there is a driving range along the middle of it and I assume that they let people park and access the stream.

Last year I had very limited time to check it out and I parked upstream of the driving range in an abandonded field and dropped dow...

Went on a cruise/land tour with Princess in June 2 yrs. ago & it was great. As for fishing I went on 3 trips which I booked through Princess. They were okay nothing great. I have never been there but arter looking at those pictures I would like to visit to see it in person.That is a really nice looking stream and I can see why you would fish it even though the catching is tough.
There was a stream in my local similar to that but then they destroyed it in the name of "progress" many years ago.

Yea, Maurice that was the first time to ever catch anything there. It was also the first time I have seen a decent hatch. I may have done better if the geese upstream would have quit stirring up mud.....LOL

Thanks. I used to work up there so i knew what was going on. Since I moved its been hard to get up there. I enjoy fishing the hatch, but its hard to justify the hour and half drive if noting is going on.

Yes, it's decent and hold wild as well as stocked trout. And it's pretty quiet. Above the dam populations drop off pretty quickly due to AMD and it's dead above Ginther. the tribs have fish though.

Like i said it's been over 10 years since i fished there but i swear iv'e caught wild browns above the lakes , it could be a foggy memry but when wild tiger trout and i were talking about the tigers and the conditions required to produce one Mountain creek was one of the streams that came to mind.

I fished up in this area on Saturday. There were a few caddis on the water, I caught some small stockie browns and a native brookie in one of the lower stretches, the further up I went the less action, more fishermen and skinnier water. Caught 4 in the 1st stretch and did little more than scouting around in the upper stretches.

I did see a large raptor take a good sized trout in the first stretch I fished, it happened too fast...

Trying to get more information on this. I went down to the little shenango (mercer county) yesterday for a few hours. As I was leaving, another guy there asked if I was going to be down Wednesday (5/8) because they are stocking. Correct me if I'm wrong but I see no stocking for this Wednesday, however I do see it for the 14th. Does anyone know if there is a stocking this Wednesday? maybe the TU chapter?

Right tough hike and wade to remote parts of mud run. Not a lot of fish, generally speaking. If you put "mud run poconos gwboater" in youtube, a kayaking video. Wading much of the lower part of mud run is too much for me -- even in low water.

A little off subject but try Middle Spring in your back yard. I just got off it and caught a few fish. It was stocked about a week ago and also hold some wild Browns. I live in Boiling Springs so only fish Middle a few times each year but seem to always catch a few. Good luck,do some exploring and you can tell us some great water to fish.

i've fished lycoming creek for many years and sometimes it's a very frustrating creek to fish. but on the other hand it can b very rewarding if u can figure things out. right now is just the start of the fun on lycoming creek. the water is starting to level out and warm up. so if ur going to b fishing it in the next week or so here's a head start on some flies to try out:

Many more people use the Poe Paddy tunnel than fly anglers. That railroad trail is an extremely popular bicycling and hiking route- scenic, level, and just the right length for a morning or afternoon excursion, with a state park with camping facilities and a swimming lake that works either as the beginning, the the turnaround, or the destination. Obviously the tunnel deserves to be fixed.

There is acces to Yellow off of East Cape Horn and West Cape Horn roads. These two roads don't connect (refer to a map). You can walk down or up from either. Yellow is posted immediately above Rt 62 and may also be posted at a house near the creek south of 62. Ther may also be a posted area on the south side of the creek just east of where I-79 crosses.
