It was a great time and some fantastic fishing. The Saturday night event was a lot of fun, I just wish I could have stayed awake beyond 1:30. It will not be easy to go back to work tomorrow!

Nice job skybay, liked the transition to pictures at the end there-dog pic in chair was the favorite. Musta had a lot of video to edit.

This saturday May 11th from 11:00am - 1:00pm I will be doing another spey casting demonstration for Slate Run Tackle Shop in Slate Run, PA. Spey casting instruction will be available on Sunday as well.

The pine is fishing pretty good right now and the march browns should be in full swing. The weather looks like it might be a little wet on Saturday, but that won't stop the fun!!

Do they still have that the day of the first in season stocking? Used to go up when I was in HS around the in season stocking(they used to do Brush Creek and Wills the same week or day). I was out in Tioga county this weekend and it was close to the same. Nothing on Cedar in spite of many bugs. Nothing on Little Slate in spite of bugs. Lots of natives on a smaller stream, but no browns and it has a good population in it. I thought the same thing about water temps being too low for the fish to be active on top.

I wish i had tried a stream in Potter that always produces on top this time of year ...

Ben has rooms for rent. I don't know if he'll let you camp there. You need a NY license if you are fishing on the East, Beaverkill or upper West. For the middle WB and Main, a PA license is fine.

You need caddis, caddis, caddis. Hendricksons, rusty spinners and olives too.

I agree, but you can find them throughout he creek. They will move out of the warmer sunny areas in the summer. Just go fish the sulphur hatch, you should catch some. Fall is the best time to fish for wild trout. I have a video on my website form this past year.

They have found wild trout all the way down into Pottstown.

There is plenty of open water for miles and all of it is good. From just south and west of Tyrone, all the way down and past Alexandria, there is great fishing.

Caddis, BWO and early blues and their nymphal second choice flies would be good things to have stocked along with streamers and junk flies for backup.

I have seen some rather large crays, mostly into the summer months, but I guess that have to be ...

I do apologize I didn't get into more detail. The controller is in fact the person assigned to each competitor in the event. The controllers make sure each competitor is following the rules set forth for that competition. They measure each fish and release them. I am rather new to this myself and if you have any questions feel free to email Greg Gondella at
