I would avoid the Delaware River 7/20-7/21.
Floatzilla 6 is scheduled for those 2 days. Hundreds of kayaks floating down the river.

So we all know that Eastern PA is not what it used to be period. I live in Western PA and spend most of my time targeting smallies with success. The lower Yough or the Allegheny tail water near Warren are both great. Not to mention you got a shot at muskie, pike, walleye, and world class browns on the Allegheny. The lower Yough is pretty much the same story. Both have absolutely beautiful mountain scenery, and are big enough to support a "float jam" because one boat couldn't possibly cover all the fishy water available! I'm not saying to give up on the Susky or the "J"; I grew up fishing them when I lived in Williamsport, but it's just not the same. I say why not get together on some water that we actually stand to catch some fish!

Not to mention you could easily make a 2 day float jam on the Allegheny from the damn to Tidioute, and camp out either on the Allegheny Wilderness Islands or at Buckaloons.

Sal and I talked about a WW Jam down here in Lancaster but we never got it rolling. Lancaster is filled with great WW fishing. I'll think this over a bit, the QG (March Brown) Summit is my "organized" jam, but doing one in my back yard for a hot summer Saturday wouldn't be so bad.

How about the Lehigh or the Delaware?
If this materializes, count me in.

If you can not catch smallies on the Delaware or Lehigh there is something wrong.

How wadeable is the Lehigh or the Delaware? I personally don't have a kayak or any type of water craft so wading is my only option. I could probably borrow one from a friend for a jam.....

You can catch them on the Lehigh and Big D, but nothing like the New or James. Down there a guy can still catch 50-100/day on poppers aand streamers, and several are likely to be 4#+.

If I head to the New or the James. Small mouth aint on the radar for me. Those are 1st class musky rivers.

Indeed. But they don't jam on a hot summer day. You need to be there right now.
