What is the optimal water temps for WW fishing .. most species that I'll find on the eastern part of the state in general?
With my limited knowledge I always find it odd when you guys hook a SMB or some other WW species in winter.

Here is a link with optimal temps for all kinds of fish: http://www.outdoorlife.com/weather/water
You can catch SM bass in 35* water, but they become most active in water around 70*. With that being said, the optimal time is fish, is whenever you can. I do suggest, to stack the odds more in your favor, fish for coldwater fish like trout in colder water and WW (actually coolwater) fish like smallies when the temps are more favorable. I really like the change of seasons, and change up the type of fish I pursue based on the time of year. All fun.
