Got this one the other day, stripping a Olive BH bugger along the bottom, and also have been seeing lots of top water strikes.

I was out targeting bluegills the other day and couldn't keep the bass off my nymphs. All the LMs I caught were small - I suspect males staged near nesting areas. I even got a 12incher on a 8 inch muskie fly.
For the most part, I try to lay off bass in May during the spawn but there are so many aggressive fish in shallow water this time of year it's hard to keep 'em off your hook when you're after other fish.

Got into some largemouths at a family pond today with my kids and they were roaming in packs, something to see for sure and had a big female absolutely hammer a chartreuse clouser. And like a good big ole' girl she gave me a head shake and spit my fly out. They have an uncanny ability to spit hooks.
