my gray & black gps took a tumble down a leaf covered hillside and was tough to find. just tie surveyors tape on back lanyard loop.

the tape is a few dollars on Amazon and you can put it on other stuff too

Bob you need to put that stuff on your rods and wading staffs! :-D

yeah I probably should but I like to look at it quickly

In the Fall it'll blend right in, Bob! Then what!?

Use blue ribbon. Not much in the outdoor setting is blue, it stands out real well in all seasons.

that orange is pretty bright, but it still might match some amd streams :) I test-tossed the gps a few times today and it stood right out

Good tip.

I bet that's never been said on the internet before.

etrexs are tough little beasts-- if you can find them in the leaves

thanks for the blue surveyor tape suggestion it is on order

dan I see what you mean but forget trekking poles and fly rods... I once walked away from a whole car just kidding

Would like to get instruction how to use my etrex-30. Instruction manual is poor. I've had mine for almost a year and can't do much with it. I'd like to use it to locate fishing locations. I keep watching for REI to have a workshop. Can anyone recommend a good how-to guide?

I believe you can get that tape a Home Depot as well. GG
