Zipcast > * imo. Shame that it's not really available anymore.

Zipcast is still available here:

http://www.zipcast.net/

The guy that invented it is Tom Kirkman. He's the editor of a rod building forum. Jerry Brumfield (dotman) no longer distributes it, but you can still order it directly from Tom.

It's expensive, but one bottle lasts for years. Great stuff, IMO.

Ed,

I had heard rumors that it was no longer available there, so decided to check it out.

The process was a nightmare. 2 months, nothing happened. Finally someone answered my email after threats of reporting it as fraud. I ordered two bottles. They sent one. I have tried to contact them 3 times about it, and finally chalked it up as a loss.

Ymmv, but caveat emptor.

Well, that ain't good! Hope they get their act together. Jerry is back in the dot business again, and I think he's tried to get the Zipcast dealership back. Maybe he'll bail us out.

Good thing I've got 3 bottles stashed (thanks Jerry). :-D

btw, Dave posted this as a blog in the summer time if memory serves me correctly.

I too like zipcast, used to all the time, then I couldn't find it anymore.

jayL, too bad you got the run around. I had several emails and calls inquiring where they can get ZipCast during the same time period as you. I had experienced delays in receiving product the last year or so I was a dealer and most of that was due to carrier issues for large quantities. Same thing could have happened for the dealer now that sells ZipCast.

ZipCast is still available through Bingham Enterprises in Overland Park, KS. I suspect they are the dealer now since I ordered a bottle on November 3rd at www.zipcast.net. It arrived on November 8th. Good and speedy service, which I am glad to see. Good luck to them.

HA, as always I owe you gratitude for your kind words. As much as I would like to have ZipCast as my own, the price in my mind was too steep to buy.

That online order form doesn't look very secure :-?

I wonder if there is a phone number that a credit card can be called into...

The web address becomes a secure one (https) when you click on Order Zipcast, but I understand any hesitation. I had no issues ordering there.

I did a Google of Bingham Enterprises and they sell rod building blanks and components. Here is their website with contact info.

Good luck
