I see 7 people that are guessing and are probably wrong. If he does abuse the warranty, I'm calling the fly rod police.
Maybe he's looking for a starter rod, to practice his rod repair skills or just maybe he's a broken rod collector. Who cares? Moving on. Good day.

I am putting together an event and I'm trying to get Orvis to partner up with me. Old rods that are just sitting around is what I'm really after, maybe I should have clarified that point. If a rod is broken, I had a guy who was willing to repair it for little or no cost.
The event is for teaching fly fishing and casting to the young ones. I'm not trying to abuse the warranty. Seems it takes one to know one (think about it). Thanks to the few on this site who gave me the benefit of the doubt and told the others to move on, I appreciate it. Oh and for those who think otherwise, stick you comments where the sun doesn't shine. I'm outta here.

Yes, the first amendment does allow us the freedom to make a$$es out of ourselves too! I wish you great success with the event!
I do not have an orvis rod or I might just have broken it for you!  Of course, the cynics among us will assume he's lying about the event too, wait and see.

Just to clarify my assumptions. If he asked for rods such as White River, Dogwood Canyon or a Cabelaes rods or any other no name rod the assumptions would not have been justified. But one has to wonder why Orvis rods? If a couple years ago I came on the forum and said I was doing a fly tying class for kids and need any Whitting saddle hackles anyone could spare especially grizzly hackles what would the comments be? I guess the Marine in me still has a hard time trusting peoples good intentions.
