Thought I'd throw this out as they aren't sold very often xcept ebay. But if some one has 1 or a few even shot up bad I'd be glad to buy them for a reasonable price.

Or if anyone knows a hunter I can get in touch with let me know.

LL -

Just curious - you tying something with them?
I hunted grouse for many years. But could never find any use for grouse feathers - at least on dry flies anyway.

However, , I would save a few of the tails for my daughter - and more recently - my grandaughter.
I'd fan it out on a board, fasten it good, and salt down the center to preserve it. And the kids just thought they were pretty neat - and made some rather artistic displays with them

Corey - Load up the HHR with the wife and kids, and take them here for breakfast next Saturday.

They'll give you all the feathers you can carry (pheasant tails, too for Steve ) - for free. Just ask for them.

BTW - best breakfast in the area! I highly recommend the farmer's breakfast.

I've been wondering if Grouse are extinct around here. The last one I saw was about 8yrs. ago, and I live in the mountains. I think the Avion flue that hit the poultry industry got into the wild birds including wid turkeys. The one I saw I shot. I have the tail feathers, but I never use any. Give me an address and I'll give you half of them for free.

I was at E. Hilles in the mid 70s and they told me they were raided by the PA Game Commision for selling Grouse tail feathers.
