Looking for a used 9' 5 wt rod and reel. Just graduated college and moved to the area from down south and looking to get into fly fishing. So looking for a good mid level all around rod, doesnt necessarily have to be a 9' 5 wt rod just seems like thats a good all around rod that you can do a little bit of everything with.

Also need some boots or waders. Im a size 11 foot 6'ish and thin.

Thanks in advance. Any advice or opinions are always welcome.

What's your budget looking like? I would recommend getting new waders and not breaking the bank on them, get them with a warranty though when/if possible. Get a good/nicer pair of wading boots and avoid felt just in case for when it gets banned in pa.

ll bean waders - good price and lifetime guarantee

Check out the big box stores for some sales. There's some good deals to find out there to get you started.

I got your message. What part of the state are you from? If you're close to me you're more than welcome to check out the St Croix rod for yourself to see if it's a good fit. It's a heavy 5 though. I'm thinking of possibly holding onto it and putting a 6wt line on it to help balance it out a little bit better, but we'll see.
