I just bought a 9'5wt 4 pice St Croix Triumph from Cabela's for $80 on sale. Haven't tried it out yet, but a good price and has a 5 year warranty.

What price range are you in for the whole setup?

The combo depends on your price range.

If you are looking for a good deal, I don't think you are gonna find anything as complete and new as this...

If you have more to spend look at the Traditional II...I like mine.

The reason why I ask is that I can suggest the cheapest combo out there for around $40 if you just want something to fish with, or if you're looking for the best of the best, then I can suggest a combo of around $800..... little bit of a spread there in price

for trout i am currently using a scott s4 and a abel reel, i want something good but not the same level for the stockies, i have found myself fishing under a lot of bridges and dont want to bang the rod into them, esp. a rod like that

these are nice for the price, if you'd like a new beater rod with a warranty. Also, if your just going to use if for stockies - may i recommend a 3 wt instead of the 5 wt. The 9' 3wt Tech II is a pretty solid fast action rod that can be used for warm water species as well.
