Hmm, possibly interested in the 9 wt.

Requesting thoughts from the board. I'm saltwater clueless but have been considering changing that. With a baby on the way, vacations over the next 5-10 years will likely focus on beaches instead of mountains....

What would you look for in a surf/jetty outfit?

I have used the rod in salt, maily for bones, cuda and jacks. Also LM bass and a couple atlantic salmon.

Not used in the east coast surf, but it is a medium fast action and can pitch a good size clouser with ease.

As for a reel, there are many suitable reels out there, at reasonable prices. I use Ross Canyon Big Games, but most newer reels will be fine. Just be diligent about rinsing them throughly with fresh water after use in the salt. Take the spools off, back off the drag and rinse everything well.

Eric

Yep. Though he may hate my people, he is quite shrewd.

Pull trigger, as questions later. Pat still wondering what reel to put on it. Lol.
