Looking for a reasonable reel for my 9wt. Anyone got some they would like to get rid of ? Something reasonable.

Saw that you had a post in the swap forum, and thought you were putting up the "stuff" you found in your back yard in trade for some fly fishing equipment. lol

I need a 9 wt rod for the same trip that Bruno needs the reel. If anyone has a complete 9 wt setup, perhaps we can arrange a 3-way deal?

I have a TFO TICR rod in an 8wt and just love it. If you're looking, check out TFO. Looked around for some deals but didn't find any. They cast great, and TFO has great customer service. Maybe try to find a combo and save a few bucks by splitting up the rod and reel between the both of you.... usually places will throw in backing and a line with a combo setup.

edit: one 9wt rod on ebay

I'll sell you my Cabelas SLA for like 100 bucks so I can replace it with a battenkill bar stock. In all fairness, I'd have to tell ya that the drag sucks and it doesn't hold a lot of backing, but the line pickup is amazing and it's pretty. You can palm drag a chinook, right?

My drag took a crap up there once, and I was palming it for the remainder of the trip.

It can be done. DO NOT let the reel handle whack you in the knuckle. It will swell badly.

I picked up a 4-piece Redington RS4 on e-bay, so I'm all set.

Looks like I'm no longer all set. It's been 5 weeks and I still have not received the new 9-weight rod. I can probably get my money back from PayPal, but now time is short to find a 9 weight rod. Any out there?

Reels look like the older Reddingtons I have. Good reels, no problems with the drags with salmon and big browns. Price looks good. Sportsmans Guide had 9 wts and reels for cheap.
