LOL. Just about the time I get it right, my order from the super secret fly shop will arrive and the right color will be right there among the 22 cards of super secret stuff that I ordered. Of course, I ain't received the hush money from Squaretail yet, so the super secret fly shop that sells the super secret stuff may not be so secret afterall.

That's the closest I've seen salmonoid.

I just got my order from The Bug Shop, and they don't have it. I ordered every shade of pink and purple that they had. Guess it's going to be a dye job. Prolly best order a Prism marker like MKern suggested before.

I've gotta say that the Bug Shop sure is on the ball. Their BLING looks pretty good. I put my order in on Wens. morning, and received it in the mail today. I'm impressed.

I think it might actually be vernille (ultra chenille) and not regular old chenille. There are "earthworm" colors in a couple of the manufacturers' materials, but most are more a brown than a lavender pink.

The interesting thing about this thread is after looking at the actual fly, I thought it was a pretty accurate imitation color of the water logged worms I used to pick up as a kid for fishing, and which now grace my driveway during the spring and summer. So now I'm on a quest to find the stuff too...

Pretty sure this is more of the same:

This thread inspired me to get some dirty pink microchenille at the show yesterday. Not quite the color you're looking for, but we'll see how it works!
