Considering selling for the right price. Suggested retail is $780. It's almost new and has only been on 2, 2 day float trips down the Delaware. It's an absolute cannon of a rod. Serious interests only please and not interested in trading for bamboo. :)

From Sage website:

Evolved from our popular TCR Series, TCX rods redefine the extreme distance category, as we continue to push the outer boundaries of fly rod performance.

We created a radical new series of tapers and a fly rod that’s lighter, stronger and more powerful than its predecessor. Most importantly, the enhanced line feel and feedback mean intuitively better timing and an extraordinary level of casting ease for ultra-high-performance fly rods.

Specifications:
490-4 TCX A 9'0" 4 4 30 3 3/16 $780.00

I wanted a fast rod but it's killing my arm to cast it. For the September JAM, I'll have my wrist and forearm taped up or wrapped. Casting all day caused me some serious tendinitis and then I try to cast the TCX. You need to 'bring it' when using that rod. I cast it just fine... tight loop, good distance / shooting of line, etc. I let Alpabuck cast it. 2 steps into the river and he cleared the entire EB of Delaware at Long Flat! He actually threw it into the woods on the far bank! I belive he got the whole sharkskin out which is about 105-110 ft! Also, I wanted a 4wt. The TCX I have is loaded w/ WF5F and I think it could easily handle 6wt line. They say the z-axis is fast but the tcx is a little faster. That's like racing a NASCAR vehicle against a formula one car. No contest.

The guy said he'd take it back, credit me and give me a different rod. Just thought I'd toss it out there and if someone want the rod for close to the credit he was going to give me It would make someone happy and I wouldn't have to mail it to Idaho. :)

Will you take 100 bucks for the rod? I'll throw in a case of beer.

I have never cast that TCX (not that my abilities would come into play in making a judgment on a rod) but have a couple rods built by the builder and they are perfect. Guy knows what he is doing.

Utopias is $100 a bottle. Demand a case of that and you'll come out way ahead.

Due to the extreme interest or lack there of, I'll send it back to the builder and get a different rod and a new line w/ my credit. Hey, I tried. Guess there's no bonefishers on here. LMAO
