Quick question
Just picked this book up and really like it. I have a question about the hatch chart inside has a black color and a grey color. I am unsure what each color indicates.

black is the stronger time for hatch where gray is not. hope that helps.

It's a general, simplified hatch PA chart. You can find more detailed info on hatches on local streams at the local fly shops. But also, be prepared to fish the times when trout are not rising for insects, because that is most of the time. See the tying section for info on nymphs and streamers!!
