My friend, whom I've been "turning onto" fly fishing over the past year, gave me "Fly fishing through the Midlife Crisis" by Howell Raines. I left it in my garage, and rediscovered it on Sunday. Wow! What a read!

I couldn't put it down, and when I was finished, I said to my wife, "You should read this, so you know why I fish".

She said, "I know why you fish."

Without letting her finish, I said, "I didn't really fully understand why I fish until I read this book."

If you already haven't, GET A COPY!

If you've read it, I'd enjoy hearing your thoughts.

In my opinion, the book is well written, as Mr. Raines is an excellent writer. I wish he had chosen to keep his polictical views in his newspaper column.

His writing abilities and the story he told, diluted any political views he put forth. It's kind of like listening to anyone's fishing stories - you need to weed through the B.S.
