I love this book for reviewing techniques. It is without a doubt the most exhaustive encyclopedia for fly tying techniques. The illustrations are amazing with clear step by step photos. And if you've ever struggled with a technique for adding a comparadun collar (for instance), you'll find several including several more for different techniques.

It does not show how to tye patterns. Nor does it give any information on patterns at all. I'd love to see an encyclopedia of patterns as thorough as this tying techniques treatise!

Pad,

Just got it last week and can not put it down. I think it is a must have for the serious fly tier.

Agreed I have this book too and it's really well put together and covers nearly all the techniques necessary to create great fish catching flies, truly a must have fro any fly tyer beginner to experienced
