Santa brought me a copy of Cutthroat, Native Trout of the West by Patrick Trotter, 2nd edition.

It's very thoroughly researched, and also a very beautifully produced book. If you are interested in the topic of cutthroat, I highly recommend it.

It's not really a fishing guidebook, though you could get plenty of ideas about fishing locations from it. The book covers the biology, history, geography etc. of these fish in great detail.

The beautiful illustrations of the cutts are by Joseph Tomelleri, who is the best fish illustrator on the planet.

If you start looking for a copy, take notice of whether copies offered for sale are first or second editions. I recommend getting the second edition, as it has been updated.
