Depends on what stream and when.

So your answer is "yes".

The question is whether you would pay to fish ANY PA trout stream. If there are any times or places where you would, the answer is yes.

Like Mo said, it's not hard. Just answer to the best of your ability. If you make any assumptions, highlight them with a post.

Good data so far.

The trend that I am looking for is how many people have a moral opposition to paying a landowner for access. If $20 isn't acceptable but $5 is, or even if $.05 is, then you are a "yes". If you'd pay to get a stretch of any stream to yourself during a hatch, your answer is "yes". Please do your best to represent your opinion with "yes" or "no", as the idea is to get a view of how large the two factions of the debate are.

The recreational law http://www.fishandboat.com/water/publ ... c_use_land_water_act.htm
I don't think take into consideration if it is open with a fee.

A landowner charging a fee takes on added liability to invitees as they are business invitees and the highest degree of care for the person's safety is required by the law. Permission without a fee is a lesser duty of care.

I voted yes...

I don't fish too many wild trout streams, but that will hopefully change. I look at it this way with the connection to the mining in PA... if I had to pay a few dollars to fish a very nice stream to protect it I would do it in a heartbeat. I may even go out of my way to do so. And for those who know me, I don't spend money at all, so this shows it's importance.

I see how development has changed the sport, but don't think it will effect the entire state so much that there won't be places to fish. However if you look at other countries, as Jay has pointed out, it's possible to have the whole concept of outdoors life be changed. I never put out the possibility of a drastic change in anything... my career is being threatened with new laws that will drastically change the way we get paid. So in thinking of what may happen with fishing, you never know.

If it came to having to pay even $5 to fish one day every time I wanted to go fish it would price me out of the sport right now. But if the money went to the right place then I would have no problem doing it every so often. So in conclusion, yes I would pay in certain situations.

See my edit. If it's about "how much", "where", or "when", then you are a "yes".

The intention of the poll isn't to get an idea of what you think a good deal is. It's to determine whether you are opposed to paying for a day's access. I'm surprised that so many people are having trouble picking a camp.

For Jack

Just another scam to enrich the legal profession

NO REBUTTAL

It is assinine to even consider a landowner being responsible for accidents or injury's on his land

I might consider $5 to fish a nice stream that is not currently open to the public during a busy hatch to ensure I had a nice peaceful section.

forum readers .........when comparing PSU games to the topic, there are probably only hundreds of "what does that have to do with it"

ya have a brain (????) use it

well maybe not hundreds

just bunches

PSU games, it has been a while but I always went free, first class, deluxe country club meals, travel to and from for both of us, heck they would have provided an "escort" if I wasn't married

LJ,

I assure you that iam using my brain. Are you?. You can not compare the 2 because they are UNRELATED. If they are then you could say.

You pay 10 times more to go to a PSU game.

You would pay 10000 times more for your car

and 30000 times more for your house.

If you get the McDouble 20 times rather than the double cheeseburger ...you could pay for access.
