Well wife want to go to massachusetts to whale watch but said if I wanted I could go fishing for a day!!! Anyone have any suggestions? I know not much as far as exactly where I'll be but I don't know either just starting my search. Even some shops to contact would be appreciated. Thanks!

there is a fly shop in worcester. Can't remember the name off hand.
You have to go that far out west to encounter decent freshwater FF.

drews - there are sea run brookie/browns on the Cape, but I'm pretty sure they are seasonal. If you base out of Boston, the Harbor has a bunch of FF opps. The late Jack Gartside wrote a lot about that when he lived there.

FW trouts in MA - not so much. There's the Swift to the West, and the Berkshires at the western edge. PA spoils us for trouts.

I fished a couple of the Cape Streams, but I have to look up the names. The fishing is seasonal, for the best info I'd call the TU Chapter there.

Cape Anne for stripers or the Deerfield or swift rivers for trout.

Look for Phillips ave on cape Anne. There are public paths between the houses that lead down to the rocky shoreline. That is where I hooked countless stripers and a 12-15 foot shark (although I landed many of the stripers)
