I'm thinking of possibly fishing a wild rainbow stream next weekend. Is the spawn over now or is it still happening? I know some steelhead are still on the redds, but not sure on the inland wild bow streams. Don't want to bother them if they're still doing their thing.

They, by the book, wrap up in May. I have no idea if the weather / water may have altered their spawning habits. Check it out. If you see obvious spawning action just jump onto a brookie stream. Let us know what you find.

Rainbows in PA spawn in late winter. Some even spawn in the fall. I think you'll be ok, but you probably will see redds if you look for them.

I probably know where you are heading, and I have no idea. just have to check it out and see what you find. just a note, the water will be low unless we get much needed rain, so it may be like shooting fish in a barrel, or it might be tough as hell.

My experiences have shown late winter as well for the ones that spawn in the spring. Should be fine.

I was fishing some stockies today and swear I saw some milt floating around.
I'm pretty sure I know where you're headed too. Last time I fished there I caught the skunk, took a dip, and busted my reel. Fun day lol.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you guys know what creek I'm headed to...
My main mission is to fish a brookie stream or two, and maybe some stocked water, but I'm still gonna check out the wild bow stream, and if I see actively spawning fish then I just won't bother them and head elsewhere.

Don't. Worry that stream has probably seen some harvest by now.
