I live at the upper end of the canyon (look at the opening from porch) and its where I did the vid, about a 1/2 mile from home...

i've hiked down the canyon from the west side...kinda near your place sandfly, if i remember right. pine looked so much wider and thinner where I saw it compared to your video.

That is pretty much what I have always experienced early season on Pine, tons of bugs and no fish rising. I don't know if it is due to lower temps or the fish being stockies who have not learned to look up yet. Meanwhile, I could go to one of several other streams and pick up lots of fish on the surface.
