Good news for the agency, and perhaps for continuing the handling of stream classifications as we know them. But HB 1576 is still out there.

I received an email I today from my state rep in response to an earlier email opposing HB 1576. In the response, he stated "As I understand the situation, key stakeholders are now working to draft replacement legislation that would be clearer and more acceptable to all"

Not sure what was unclear about handing over scientific based decision making matters to an independent board, presumably comprised of political insiders with pro natural gas leanings, appointed by the Governor. What angers me most is the arrogance that lead them to believe they could get away with it.

I got an email from my senator today. It was very vague and just said (paraphrasing) "thanks for contacting me regarding the bill. I will keep your thoughts in mind should the bill come before me for a vote".

Vote out all incumbents!!!
